If your company will match gifts to MSU Athletics, please enclose your company’s form with your contribution.

PLEASE NOTE:  Matching gifts may not be utilized to fulfill any seating requirements and/or be a part of a fulfillment to a pledge

Planned/Estate Giving

Wishing to leave a legacy with MSU Athletics while planning for the future?  Gifts in the form of life income gifts (Charitable Remainder Trust, Charitable Gift Annuity), charitable lead trusts, and/or bequests are common ways to state your intentions of leaving a future gift to MSU Athletics – all while receiving substantial income, estate, and gift tax benefits now!

For more information, please see our Planned Giving information.

Gift-in-Kind

Donated services or items (food and beverage, athletic equipment, printing, and air travel, etc.) that would normally be purchased by the MSU Athletics Department are considered gifts-in-kind, and are always appreciated. Subject to university approval and IRS regulations, the value of the contribution is credited to your name.

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS & PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS

Federal law prohibits charitable distributions from either a donor advised fund or private foundation when goods or services that may be considered more than incidental, including premium seats, are obtained by the donor in exchange for the gift.  Therefore, the Spartan Fund cannot accept seat premiums from either a donor advised fund or private foundations and will return such gift if received.  Please contact University Advancement at 517-884-1000 for additional information or assistance.

IRA qualified CHARITABLE distribution – Ages 70 1/2 or older

Donors aged 70 1/2 or older may move up to $100,000 from their IRAs directly to qualified charities without having to pay income tax on their distribution.
